ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Robin Joy Maxson

WHERE I COME FROM

My family moved from El Cajon to Poway in 1965. As a kid I rode horses & my brother rode dirt bikes. Ramona became my final home in 2002. My kids were raised in Poway & Ramona - attending the same schools I had: Midland, Twin Peaks & Poway High School. And, my daughter and I both graduated from UCSD. I went on to earn a teaching credential.

Like most parents my husband & I spent a lot of time at soccer fields, swim meets, basketball courts, dance rehearsals, & with 4-H projects. The region has changed dramatically during these decades.

Unfortunately, our County has chosen a path that leads us to unsustainable financial obligations and unproven programs paid for with your tax dollars.

Leaving a growing tax burden for our kids & grandkids!

Empowering Communities Through Representation

- THE COUNTY & OUR CITIES -

The cities of El Cajon, Poway, Santee & 15 communities of the City of San Diego fall within District 2. If you live here your local government is your mayor & city council.

However, The County Serves You Too!

Services provided by the County across the region include:

*Health & Human Services

Foster Care

Homeless Programs

Mental Health

*Public Safety

Adult Protective Services

Animal Services

Sheriff & Fire/Paramedic Services - (cities may contract for County to provide)

*Self-Sufficiency Services

Medi-Cal

Cal Fresh

Cal Works

Veterans Services

*Environmental Health

Water Quality

Restaurant Inspections

Vector Control

Your City Provides These Services,

But The County Provides The Following For Unincorporated Communities

Building Permits & Zoning

Road Maintenance

Parks

Libraries

Code Compliance

- A WORD ABOUT THE UNINCORPORATED AREA -

Over half-a-million residents live outside the cities in unincorporated communities. Alpine, Julian, Lakeside, Pine Valley, Ramona, Rancho San Diego, San Diego Country Estates & Spring Valley to name a few. Your "local" government is the County Supervisors - not a mayor nor a city council.

This is not working!

Government has to stop getting in the way of the right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness for our rural neighbors.  County government needs to demonstrate a "return on investment" of our tax dollars for every community.

I founded the Association of Planning Groups - San Diego County (APG) in order to get a seat on the SANDAG Board of Directors. All 18 County Planning groups joined the APG and we have our seat. SANDAG is responsible for planning & funding regional highways, roads, & public transportation projects. As a result of the APG seat on the Board, we have secured more road & highway safety projects than ever before. With only our County Supervisor seats at SANDAG - the rural areas have been overlooked & forgotten. With my election to County Supervisor for District 2

I pledge to ensure all of our communities are represented

& receiving a fair share of their tax dollars.
