39

- Be aware of when politicians are attempting to disrespect the wisdom of the voters -

The Good News:

Prop 39 is a citizen-based voter id initiative that demonstrated its universal appeal to registered votes of all sides by collecting 1.37 million signatures - far above the 875,000 required by the State to qualify for the ballot. We use ID to drive, fly, receive healthcare, pick up kids from school, etc. And, now to vote.

The Bad News:

Prop 39 was originally & correctly named by California Attorney General Rob Bonta & voters signing the petition supported this initiative's goal - “Establishes Additional Voter Identification and Citizenship Verification Requirements.”

Then Bonta did an unethical thing...he changed the title for the ballot. It now reads - “Prohibits Citizens From Voting Unless They Present Government-Issued Identification” 

"Prohibits" is a loaded word & for busy voters scanning the titles before quickly casting their vote the changed title intentionally guides the voter to respond negatively.
